Hangar 9 UltraCote Transparent Violet (HANU955) is a polyester heat-shrink covering material designed for building and finishing RC aircraft. Supplied as a 60cm wide by 2m long roll, it's well suited to covering wings, fuselages, and control surfaces on balsa and wood-framed models. The transparent violet finish allows underlying structure to show through, making it a popular choice for decorative panels, colour accents, or lightweight overlay work. UltraCote is a widely trusted covering film in the RC plane building community, known for its balance of ease of application and durable finish.

Key Features

• Multi temperature-controlled adhesive system: adhesion to wood begins at 200–220°F, shrinkage onset at 300°F, and maximum shrinkage at 350°F, giving you precise control during application.
• The colour is permanently fused to the polyester film through a patented polymerising process, preventing colour-layer separation over time.
• Covers both shrink and stretch, making it easier to work around tight curves, wingtips, and compound surfaces without wrinkling.
• Fuel-proof against glow fuel, petrol, and smoke oil, and fully waterproof — suitable for powered models as well as gliders.
• Lightweight at 0.18 oz per sq ft, adding minimal weight to finished models.
